GRIEVING families have been banned from planting flowers at death crash scenes - because they’re a safety hazard. Mini-gardens built as tributes to victims will be dug up and wreaths allowed at a site for only 30 days, warns Thurrock Council, Essex. It said: “We respect the need for people to grieve. But others are putting their lives at risk to place flowers or visit permanent tributes.” But one angry dad said: “It’s nonsense and disrespectful.” The People 20/8/06.
