Hard hat Santa

A SHOPPING centre Santa has been issued with a hard hat after local kids pelted him with mince pies. Mall boss Andrew MacKinnon says he is so worried about Santa’s safety that he has now decided to make him wear specially designed protective headgear, complete with funky reindeer antlers. He said: “We take the safety of our staff very seriously and have taken this somewhat drastic action to protect Santa from possible injury. Santa said: “I don’t want to let the children down so, even if it looks a bit odd, I will just have to wear my festive hard hat.” Mr MacKinnon added: “I think this was a bit of Christmas high jinks by the local neds. I look on it as a health and safety matter more than anything else.” This is not the first time Santa has been targeted by bah-humbug neds at The Paisley Centre. Last year Mr MacKinnon said Father Christmas was set upon by a group of yobs, only to retaliate by picking up a Christmas tree from his grotto and setting about his attackers.
