Gravel voice

AUCTIONEER David Probert has been told to keep his voice down - because it poses a risk to health and safety. Council officials have launched an investigation into Mr Probert’s voice and demanded that he prove he does not make excessive noise. But the 59-year-old grandfather has understandably dismissed the inquiry as “health and safety gone mad”. Mr Probert, who has received several letters from Worcester Health and Safety Executive, said: “I have been a respected auctioneer for 40 years and have never heard of anything so ridiculous.” Daily Mail 29/6/06.
