A TEARFUL girl was banned from a children’s birthday party by jobsworth pub staff for
being a quarter inch too tall. Katie Best, 10, was looking forward to playing on slides and swings with pals at her six-year-old cousin’s party. But she was left sobbing when a staff member said she was just over their 4ft 9in restriction and had to leave. Distraught Katie had to sit on her own. She didn’t even get a proper lunch after bungling staff refused to cook her a vegetarian meal and gave her a bowl of chips instead. Katie’s fuming mum Sarah, 37, of Chadderton, near Oldham, said: “My sister, who organised the party, was even told by jobsworth staff she could not take pictures of her son blowing his candles out.
